BULLETIN : OCEANFREIGHT WHARF INFRASTRUCTURE FEES + AIRFREIGHT TERMINAL HANDLING CHARGES – JANUARY 2026 INCREASES

Oceanfreight Wharf Infrastructure Fees

Effective January 1, 2026, landside charges for both inbound and outbound cargo will increase, as reported by container terminal operators.

FCL per teu/feu charges applicable 01.01.2026

Melbourne:

Wharf Infrastructure Charge: $370

Wharf Booking and Empty Return Fee: $200

Sydney:

Wharf Infrastructure Charge: $310

Wharf Booking and Empty Return Fee: $395

Brisbane:

Wharf Infrastructure Charge: $400

Wharf Booking and Empty Return Fee: $200

Fremantle:

Wharf Infrastructure Charge: $250

Wharf Booking and Empty Return Fee: $130

Adelaide:

Wharf Infrastructure Charge: $330

Wharf Booking and Empty Return Fee: $150

LCL per w/m all ports.

AUD 16.00 per w/m.

Airfreight Terminal Surcharges

Starting from 1^st January 2026, Australian terminal operators intend to raise terminal surcharges for airfreight cargo arrivals.

Surcharges will be invoiced starting from 1^st January 2026 in the following amounts:

• Documentation fee : AUD 82.00 per AWB
• Terminal Handling Charges : Min AUD 82.00 or 0.82 per kg.

Toll surcharges

Toll surcharges will also increase to reflect rising costs passed on by toll road operators in each state.
