The recent incident in the Suez Canal involving the vessel “Ever Given” has impacted transiting through the Suez Canal. While efforts to dislodge the Evergreen vessel from the Suez Canal continue, hundreds of ships are caught up in the traffic in both directions as the passage remains blocked.

Specific Freight in conjunction with our industry body have reached out to shipping lines in Australia to seek their updates on;

  • vessels impacted
  • potential schedule changes
  • alternative arrangements to mitigate delays

We are closely monitoring shipments with the respective shipping lines and as we receive responses we will disseminate the necessary advice to affected customers. However suggestions are that the impact on Australia would be minimal.
